Weekly Playgroup

While establishing a permanent dog park in Nashua, New Hampshire is an achievable goal, it requires a substantial effort on the part of the community, the city of Nashua, and of course our volunteers. As such, the permanent dog park will take a while to complete, even though Nashua has an immediate need for a permanent dog park today.

Towards this end, Nashua D.O.G. holds a playgroup each Sunday from 8:00 am-10:00 am. The location of the playgroup changes as needs change, so please keep checking back here for the latest information regarding the playgroup, as well as the status of the permanent park.

Please read carefully to review the requirements to attend the playgroup.

You must register your dog(s) with our group in order to attend. For the safety of everyone involved, you will not be allowed into the playgroup unless your dog(s) are properly registered. There are two (2) methods of registration. Please choose one.

1. Walk-up registration
This service will be conducted only on the first Sunday of each month. All supporting paperwork must accompany new registrations. Incomplete registrations will not be allowed into the playgroup that Sunday. Remember to include all your dogs. You MUST have a photo ID with you to complete your registration and receive a membership tag.

2. Mail In Process

  • Obtain a registration form at the Sunday morning playgroup gate (8-10 am) or download the registration form here.
  • Fill out the registration form completely and sign the form. Remember all your dogs must be on the registration (maximum 3 dogs).
  • Photocopy the current rabies and distemper vaccination certificates/proof AND current town or city dog license. This is a municipal ordinance.
  • Mail completed registration form, proof of vaccinations, and proof of town/city dog license to:

  • Once the documents have been received and processed, a Nashua DOG representative will notify you by phone that you are fully registered. Processing takes about a week. At the next Sunday playgroup you will have a membership tag waiting for you. Only the person who registered can pick up the membership tag. You MUST have a photo ID with you to pickup your membership tag. Your dog(s) will not be allowed into the playgroup without the Nashua DOG membership tag.

    At each playgroup, we ask dog owners for a donation of $3 per dog or $5 for up to three dogs each time you attend. The donations we collect are needed for the design, construction and maintenance of our permanent dog park as well as to cover the costs of our attorney and tax accountant. (If you have any question as to where your donations are going, a full accounting is provided by our treasurer at each month's open board meetings.)

    If you attend the playgroup, we ask that you adhere to some basic rules.

    Once registered, you may signup for volunteer duty at an upcoming playgroup. It takes at least six volunteers for our weekly playgroup to run smoothly.
